We all have tiled or marble flooring in our homes because this is what we’ve been using for floors since ages, but this women who works in a tile store did something different because she was tired of seeing tiles for floors everywhere she went.
She ganged up with her husband and her daughter to create a magnificent penny floor in their home. If you also want to have your own unique floor, then this is an easy DIY project because nothing more glorious than having your own penny floor instead of one with traditional tiles.
The beginning of the penny floor project. 2,500 pennies worth $25. Not bad.
Each row of pennies contains approximately 100 pennies.
Here you can see the center floor design emerging.
Every single penny was glued to the floor with a powerful adhesive. After about 10 pennies, the little helper ran off.
Now you can really see the design coming through. Notice the darker pennies surround the shiny clean ones to make them pop.
The banks were reluctant to give up the pennies. They had to wait 1 week for every two boxes. They totally depleted their penny stock.
Finally, after gluing 20,000 pennies with lots of patience, the project was complete.
