In 2008, Jennifer Darmon was on a road trip with her friends in Ontario when their van was hit by an oncoming car. Jennifer was the only person out of the 7 people in the car hurt and she was hurt badly.

Doctors instantly declared her paralyzed from the waist down in the crash. Her boyfriend, Mike Belawitz, was by her side and knew what had happened, but he never left Jennifer’s side and fell head-over-heels with her never-ending optimism and strength. In 2010, Mike proposed her and again he stood by her side, bringing her to physical therapy hours from their home.

Although Jennifer’s doctors said it was impossible for Jennifer to walk again, but she refused to listen, and she was determined to walk down the aisle at her wedding. After years of multiple surgeries and intensive physical therapy, Jennifer was all set to go. With a little help from her brother and father — and titanium leg braces — Jennifer as a bride walked down the aisle to the perfect song, “Walk With You,” by Edwin McCain.
